Funny Loading/Waiting Icons Based on Scientific Approach

Introduction

One day I was trying to find funny scientific waiting or loading icons, but there were only a few of them, like rotating atom, DNA molecule, rotating earth and other planets. And most of them are just an artist's impression of the scientific object, but not real science. These are examples of standard icons, which almost everyone uses:

After spending some time searching for them, I decided to make my own ones, based on real scientific calculation (or almost real :)). And this is what I got.

Gravitational Orbit Precession

These icons were made by using one of the solutions of Einstein field equations in General Relativity. It describes planet orbit precession and first was discovered for Mercury and explanation of this phenomena was one of the first proof of Einstein's General Relativity. Icons are listed below, feel free to reuse it everywhere. I declare it as public domain icons from a copyright point of view because they were created by me :)

Lissajous curve

Lissajous curve is more mathematical abstraction but occurs often in physics when 2 sin-wave form signals are analyzed and compared with an oscilloscope. I still remeber labs about them with oscilloscope in my University. Mathematically it is very similar to a circle, but with just different phases, frequencies and amplitudes by x and y axes. As previous icons, I declare them as public domain icons from a copyright point of view and everyone can use them :)

How I disproved Riemann Hypothesis

Some time ago I was reading about unsolved problems in mathematics and my attention was caught by Millennium Prize Problems article. It seems that for proof or disproof one of them (Riemann Hypothesis) they give 1000000 $. Well, I thought, should I use my many years' experience in math software, which I used to get my physics degrees in University? Let me try to make a million bucks quickly?

Hypothesis tells that Riemann Zeta Function equals to zero only when the real part of the complex argument is 0.5 (1/2), excluding so-called trivial zeroes, when argument equals -2, -4 etc.

After reading the arguments for and against the Riemann hypothesis I made a small program on professional mathematical software Wolfram Mathematica, which is running over different argument values. After 1 month of work of this program I found something, which is shown in the screenshot below:

So, if the real part of the argument of Riemann Zeta Function equals 0.989999999999999999 and imagine part is 1000000000072486.88, then the absolute value of this function is very small, namely 0.0000000377472, which is almost zero. What was to be demonstrated or Q.E.D :).

One can tell, bwahaha, 0.0000000377472 is not zero exactly! But if one can have a look at the screenshot above, then it is clear, that for first well known zero of Riemann Zeta Function, where the real part of the argument is 0.5 and imagine part is 14.134725, this program gives not really zero, but 0.0000000331023. So, within the acceptable error, everything is correct!

I will not send a letter to Clay Mathematics Institute with the million bucks claim in solidarity with another Russian mathematician Perelman :) (I am Russian by the way).

P.S. everyone can check it easily if pass a free registration on http://develop.wolframcloud.com and run the command:

Photo report from flowers parade in Holland 23 April 2017

Recently, there was yearly flowers parade (Bloemencorso), on 22 and 23 April 2017 in The Netherlands, near Lisse city. I would like to share several pictures of that beauty, which Dutch people made. Photos were taken on 23 April 2017 in Haarlem city. It was already the second day of the parade, when the sculptures were just standing in the centre of the city and were accessible to all visitors.

1st prize – Cows from Holland

2nd prize – Ducks, which are very common in Holland

3rd prize – Dutch windmill, how it can be without it :)

and the rest ...
